A case study involving a 35-year-old woman revealed that migraines can be relieved through upper cervical care. The following is an overview of the study.
A 35-year-old woman was dealing with chronic daily migraines and tension headaches. She had experienced a concussion 12 years prior during a fall as a professional ice skater. Before the injury, she had experienced no health issues, including migraines. Migraines and headaches began to occur after hitting her head on the ice. Daily painkillers were her primary form of treatment from age 23 to age 35.
Radiographic and thermographic diagnostics were used to examine the woman’s upper neck, and an upper cervical subluxation was revealed. Upper cervical chiropractic care was used to correct the misalignment.
After just three months of treatment, all migraines and headaches were reported as being resolved. One year after treatment began, the symptoms still had not returned.
This is just one of many cases that have been documented involving migraines and headaches. These numerous cases reveal a clear connection between head and/or neck trauma that results in a misalignment and migraines. In these studies, once upper cervical subluxations were corrected, migraines often resolved quickly and did not return.
These dozens of cases provide a clear reason to trust the benefits of upper cervical care for migraine patients. At Balanced Living Chiropractic, we use the NUCCA technique, a precise method of correcting an atlas subluxation. Gentle adjustments hold longer, resulting in continued recovery over a longer period of time. This creates the potential for faster healing and long-lasting results. Removing the interference caused by an upper cervical misalignment has helped many patients to get on the road to well-being that can be sustained thanks to the helping the body’s ability to take care of itself.
